KSB SICCA Gate Valves — Overview

KSB manufactures three series of SICCA gate valves covering the full range of industrial isolation requirements — from standard bolted bonnet designs for general service, to high-pressure pressure seal valves for power plant main steam lines, to compact forged steel valves for small-bore high-pressure piping.

SICCA 150-600 GTC

Cast Steel • Bolted Bonnet • API 600

Standard cast steel gate valve with bolted bonnet for general industrial service. Features flexible wedge design for reliable sealing under thermal cycling, OS&Y rising stem, hard-faced seat/disc interface (13% chrome steel or Stellite), and fully confined bonnet gasket. Compliant with Indian Boiler Regulations 1950.

SICCA 900-3600 GTC

Cast Steel • Pressure Seal Bonnet • ASME B16.34

High-pressure cast steel gate valve with pressure seal bonnet design. As internal pressure increases, the bonnet seal becomes progressively tighter. Features split wedge with internal pressure balancing, Stellite 6 hard-faced seats, non-rotating rising stem, and butt weld ends. Available in Standard Class and Special Class versions. IBR compliant.

SICCA 800-2500 GTF

Forged Steel • Bolted/Welded Bonnet • API 602

Compact forged steel gate valve for small-bore, high-pressure piping. Class 800 features bolted bonnet; Class 1500 and 2500 use welded bonnet for added safety. Solid wedge design, non-rotating stem, burnished stem shank for extended packing life. Available with socket weld, threaded, or butt weld ends.

What is the maximum pressure and temperature for KSB gate valves?
KSB SICCA gate valves cover pressures up to Class 3600 (620 bar / 9000 psi) for the pressure seal GTC series, and temperatures up to 816°C (1500°F) for the forged GTF series in stainless steel F304/F316 material. Carbon steel variants operate up to 425°C, alloy steel WC6/WC9 up to 593°C, and C12A/F91 up to 650°C.
Do KSB SICCA gate valves comply with Indian Boiler Regulations?
Yes. The SICCA 150-600 GTC and SICCA 900-3600 GTC (Standard Class) gate valves meet the requirements of the Indian Boiler Regulations 1950. All three series also satisfy the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) for fluids in Groups 1 and 2.
What is the difference between bolted bonnet and pressure seal gate valves?
Bolted bonnet gate valves (SICCA 150-600 GTC) use stud bolts to secure the bonnet, suitable for Class 150–600. Pressure seal gate valves (SICCA 900-3600 GTC) use internal pressure to create a progressively tighter seal. This makes pressure seal designs essential for high-pressure applications above Class 600 — power plant main steam lines, feedwater systems, and refinery high-pressure piping.
What body materials are available?
Carbon steel (A216 WCB/WCC, A105, A350 LF2), alloy steel (A217 WC6, WC9, C12A, A182 F22, F91), and stainless steel (A351 CF8, CF8M, A182 F304, F316, F304L, F316L). All seat interfaces are hard-faced with 13% chrome steel or Stellite 6.
