KSB Butterfly Valves — Overview

KSB offers a comprehensive range of butterfly valves for water supply, process isolation, and flow regulation applications. Butterfly valves provide compact, lightweight quarter-turn operation with significantly lower face-to-face dimensions and weight compared to gate or globe valves of equivalent size — making them the most cost-effective isolation solution for larger pipe diameters.

ECOLINE CDB-S — PN10 Series

Centered Disc • Wafer Type • Lever Operated • EN 593

Standard centered disc butterfly valve for general water circuits. Grey cast iron body (EN 1561 GJL-250), spheroidal graphite iron disc coated with Nylon 11. Elastomer liner provides bi-directional bubble-tight shut-off. Lever operated only. Anti-blow-out stem retained by retainer plate. Epoxy powder coated body (RAL 5012).

Enhanced centered disc butterfly valve for higher-pressure applications. Same proven design as PN10 but rated to 16 bar with extended size range to DN600. Long neck execution for thermal insulation. ISO 5211 mounting flange for direct actuator mounting. Fusion bonded epoxy body coating (200µm). Available with CF8M (316 SS) disc for corrosive media. Lever operated up to DN300; gear operated DN50–600.

Seat Materials & Temperature Ratings

The ECOLINE CDB-S uses elastomer liner technology where the rubber seat is moulded into the body, providing a continuous sealing surface. Extra rubber at shaft passage areas ensures leak-tight sealing at the stem penetration points. Select the seat material based on your process media and temperature:

We supply the ECOLINE CDB-S centered disc butterfly valve (PN10 DN50–300, PN16 DN50–600), plus the AMRI Isoria high-performance double-eccentric series and BOAX series for more demanding applications. All are available with lever, gear, pneumatic, or electric actuation.
What is the maximum size and pressure?
The ECOLINE CDB-S covers DN50 to DN600 in PN16 (16 bar) and DN50 to DN300 in PN10 (10 bar). Temperature range is -20°C to +120°C with EPDM, up to +150°C with Viton or Silicone seats.
What seat materials are available?
Six elastomer options: EPDM (-20°C to +120°C for water/steam), Buna-N (-20°C to +80°C for oil/fuel), Viton (-10°C to +150°C for chemicals), Hypalon (-10°C to +70°C), Silicone (-20°C to +150°C for food/pharma), and Neoprene (-10°C to +90°C for refrigerants).
Are these suitable for drinking water?
Yes. The PN16 series has fusion bonded epoxy coating and Nylon 11 coated discs suitable for drinking water. A dedicated drinking water seat variant is available on request.
Can KSB butterfly valves regulate flow?
Yes. They perform both shut-off and regulation. For precise throttling, pair with positioners and pneumatic or electric actuators. Tested to API 598, EN 12266-1 Level A for bubble-tight shut-off in both directions.
What actuation options are available?
Lever (DN50–300), worm gear (DN50–600 PN16), pneumatic actuators, electric actuators, with limit switches and positioners. PN16 series has ISO 5211 mounting for direct actuator connection.
